Denver School of the Arts’ graduate, Nicole Seefried, received the inaugural Bobby G Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role on Thursday, May 30, 2013 in the Seawell Grand Ballroom. As part of this honor, Nicole will travel to New York this summer to represent Colorado in the National High School Musical Theatre Awards at the Minskoff Theatre. We caught up with Nicole before she left for The Big Apple.
DCPA: Do you have a favorite role? Favorite musical?
NS: Kate was definitely my favorite role I have played, since she was such a challenge and got me into puppetry (which, being the dork I am, I fell in love with). Avenue Q is also probably my favorite musical I have done, other than Honk Jr. my 6th grade year at Graland [Country Day School], because who doesn’t love to be a duck?
