Video: Jackie & Me student talkback: “You need to keep it safe for your scene partner”

At a recent talkback following the Denver Center Theatre Company’s “Jackie & Me,” a black man asked to address William Oliver Watkins, the actor who plays Jackie Robinson, who broke the modern-era color barrier in Major League Baseball.

"For the guy that played Jackie Robinson: You got my respect, man, for the whole thing," the audience member said. "I respect anybody for who they are, but when the ‘N word’ comes up …"
